FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Product and materials

What size are the mats?

Each mat is a 30×30 cm puzzle piece. The mats lock together, so you can shape and rearrange the path to suit your home.

What are the mats made of?

The mats are made from a durable, easy-to-clean material with no strong smell that meets EN 71 (toy safety) and REACH requirements. More about materials and production – ORTOTO sustainability.

From what age are the mats suitable?

The mats are made for the whole family – from first steps to adults. The very youngest explore together with their parents.

Can I choose colours and textures?

Yes. Our sets combine different textures – from gentle to more pronounced – and some sets come in several colour versions. You will find texture descriptions with each product.

Use and care

How do I clean the mats?

Wash with lukewarm water and a mild detergent, wiping with a damp cloth or sponge. Dry laid flat, not on a radiator. Abrasive cleaners and solvents damage the relief. More details – in the care guide.

Can they be used outdoors?

Yes – on a terrace, balcony or in the yard. Many families also take the mats out into nature or to the seaside. After outdoor use, we recommend wiping them clean and storing them indoors.

Are they suitable for damp rooms such as a bathroom?

Yes. The textured surface improves grip, so the mats are also used in the bathroom or by the shower.

Do the mats help with flat feet or other foot conditions?

ORTOTO mats are a toy, not a medical device – they do not diagnose or treat anything. If you or your child have been diagnosed with a foot condition, a doctor or physiotherapist decides on the right aids and exercises.

The mats offer a surface with different textures for walking barefoot at home – what is worth doing in your particular case is best answered by a specialist. The mats can be used alongside aids prescribed by a specialist, if they agree.
